LONG / PRESS BIO:
Julianna Joy is a Los Angeles–based alternative-pop artist and songwriter. Drawing from dark-pop influences like Billie Eilish, Lorde, and St. Vincent, her songs fuse confessional lyrics with bold, left-of-center production.
Born and raised just outside Chicago, she began releasing music at 17. Her debut single “Nevermind” quickly caught the attention of Hipgnosis (fka Big Deal Music), who signed her following the 2020 release of her first EP, Cherries. Since then, her catalog — including the EPs Cherries, Garden of Eden, and Unhappy, plus her 2025 debut album Somebody Call the Firemen! — has amassed over 10 million streams, with support from Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Pop series, The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, TIDAL’s Pop Art playlist, and tastemakers like Under the Radar.
On stage, Joy has supported critically acclaimed artists such as Xana and Eva Westphal on sold-out dates across the U.S., and has headlined rooms like The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles.
